Cheryl-Ann Rossi- Education Director
Cheryl-Ann has been performing all of her life. Her first love was and still is musical theatre. She danced under the direction of Bob Fosse, Michael Bennett and Gus Giordano. She performed on Broadway as Maria Gonzalez in the Marvin Hamlisch / Howard Ashman musical, Smile, toured as Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, was well known as the voice of many radio jingles, producer and director of industrial videos, commercials and countless professional stage companies. Though her professional credits are many and varied, she spent several years researching how to reconcile her love for the arts with the "self centered" nature of the arts and a generation of young artists willing to compromise principle, self worth and character to obtain celebrity status. Ms. Rossi has a Masters degree in Teaching: Teaching at Risk, A professional mentor and coach to performers across the nation, she has produced award winning, agency signed talent, now performing on Broadway, ABC-TV and iTunes. Act 1 Academy uses the Rossi curriculum, an integrated, whole learning, process based method.
Tyhm Kennedy is an alumni of The Juilliard School, Drama / NC School of Arts, Modern Dance / The Montage Mime School /and The Ionosphere Comedy School. In more than 30 years of experience, Tyhm has held prominent positions as a creator, director, choreographer, composer, and performer. He’s worked intimately with countless celebrities; the Cast of Dawson’sCreek - Opra Winfrey, Whoopie Goldberg and Stephen Spielberg - Andy Griffith - Halle Berry, Lynn Whitfield and Michael Warren -Nick Nolte - Paula Abdul - Sada (Sara) Ramirez - Vanessa Williams & Debbie Allen - Anna Gunn Bowen - Colin Powell - TomHulse - Maya Angelo - Trieste Kelly Dunn - Jada Pinkett - Toni Little - Dule Hill and Monica Calhoun - Barry Lathers - LorettaDevine - Jenifer Welch - Curl Lumbly - Glynn Turman and Melba Moore - Outcast, Lil' Jon, Big Gig, and other music moguls.Kennedy played the title-roles in the Showtime TV Special, JACOB'S SOUND, and an original, anti-drug musical comedy video, BILLY THE BONEHEAD; portraying 9 comedic characters, and was the supporting-lead in the indie film, 20 FUNERALS. He has played the gamete of roles in multiple motion pictures, television, independents, and theatre, and was the resident Park-Mime at CAROWINDS AMUSEMENTS. He was the waltz designer for Movies, THE WEDDING, DITCHDIGGER'S, MIRICLE IN THE WOODS, and others– As Lead-Dancer / Dance Captain, his credits include: WM CAN'T DANCE, MUPPET'S FROM OUTER SPACE, SUPER MARIO BROS, STOMPING AT THE SAVOY, BLACK KNIGHT. Tyhm Kennedy has Directed and/or Produced numerous productions for stage and screen, and Key Instructor for SHOWSTOPPERS NATION CONVENTION – and has served as Director of performing arts academies and training programs. Currently, Tyhm develops and presents original works branded, “FUSION*ARTOTGY; Interdisciplinary Hybrid-Arts.

He holds a Master’s in Education and a B.S in Theater Performance fromNorthern Arizona University and has spent the past seven years gainingvaluable professional experience, both as an actor and educator in Los Angeles. He taught Theatre in high school, helped coordinate and facilitate classes for the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company’s, Camp Shakespeare, and has worked in film, television, and theatre as an actor, writer, and producer. Matthew is a member of SAG-AFTRA and has appeared in the TV series "Life After 50", "Hostage Do or Die" and several short films. Most recently, he was cast in two feature-length films that are set to shoot this year. Matthew has also co-written and co-produced several projects, including the TV Pilot “Don’t Take This The Wrong Way”, which appeared in 9 film festivals around the world and garnered 10 awards last year.
